Here is a list of some commonly asked questions I get!
What is hydronic heating? Hydronic heating is a method of heating a space using a fluid (usually water) heated by an appliance (usually a boiler). That fluid, or water, is then sent through out the system by pump. The heat is emitted to the space by various different means including radiation, convection and conduction.
How safe if hydronic heating? Very safe! Hydronic heating is just as safe as every other heating medium. There are multiple safety's built into every system!
What advantages does hydronic heating have over a typical force air furnace? Lots! Hydronic heating systems generally run quieter and less noticed then a forced air furnace. The heating characteristic of hydronic heating are much more suitable to keeping a constant comfortable temperature. On top of that hydronic heating doesn't throw dust around your house like a forced air system does. The advantages are plentiful!

My boiler isn't firing! A boiler that isn't firing could be caused by MANY different things. Post a topic with specific details of what's happening for the best help!
My pilot light won't stay lit! This is usually caused by a failed thermocouple. A failed gas valve is also a possibility. Have a technician repair and service the appliance.
My boiler has electronic ignition and I can hear it sparking but it won't light, or only lights for a very short time! This is likely caused by a flame-rod that has failed. It is possible the gas valve is also failing or that a system sequencer is no good. Have a technician repair and service the appliance.
My pump doesn't seem to shut off! This could be one of many things depening on how your system is setup and designed to run. Some pumps run 24/7 because that's how the system is designed. Sometimes a pump will run if the boiler is starting to over heating. A relay or control module that has failed could also cause this problem. Post a topic with specific details about your case to receive the best help.
How often should I have my boiler serviced? Boilers, like all other gas appliances, should be serviced once a year by a qualified technician. The heat exchangers should be checked along with the ignition control circuit and safeties.
